- The Services may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, server failures, or outages of third-party services.
Section 6. Rights and Responsibilities for Content
- Members retain copyright in the Content they create. You represent that you own or have permission to use the necessary rights in the text, photos, and videos you post.
- When you post Content, you grant the Company a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to store, reproduce, display, and distribute it on the Site and related services (including search results, listings, recommendations, notifications, emails, and Site promotional materials), to resize and reformat it for display, and to machine-translate it.
- This license ends when you delete the Content or close your account, except that comments and replies by other Members, copies of shared trip plans, backups, and records needed for legal obligations or dispute resolution may remain for a reasonable period.
- The poster is responsible for Content and its consequences. The Company has no obligation to pre-screen Content, and publication by the Company does not mean the Company has verified or endorses it.
- Contact information you include in Content (phone, email, KakaoTalk ID, etc.) will be visible to other users. Some contact details, such as on job posts, are shown only to logged-in Members.
Section 7. Prohibited Conduct
Members and Visitors may not:
- Post fake or bait listings, items, vehicles, or jobs that do not exist, commit fraud, or request advance payment or payment in gift cards.
- Post Content that infringes another person’s copyright, trademark, right of publicity, or privacy, including posting someone’s photo, contact information, or address without permission.
- Engage in abuse, defamation, harassment, stalking, threats, or hate speech based on race, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics.
- Post sexually explicit material, content harmful to minors, or content promoting violence or self-harm.
- Trade illegal goods or services, or items prohibited in the Market under the Community Guidelines.
- Post undisclosed advertising, reviews that do not disclose sponsorships or material connections, repetitive posts, spam, or promotions for pyramid schemes or gambling.
- Post housing or job listings that violate the Fair Housing Act or employment discrimination laws (e.g., restrictions based on race, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or age).
- Impersonate the Company, its staff, or other Members, or misrepresent licenses or qualifications.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to collect or copy Site data in bulk, including member information, directory listings, and property listings, or circumvent the Site’s security or anti-spam features.
- Transmit malware, send excessive requests, or otherwise interfere with the Services.
- Manipulate “helpful” votes, likes, follows, view counts, or ad impressions and clicks.
- Repeat prohibited conduct through another account after being blocked or restricted.
Section 8. Additional Terms for Specific Services
1. Transactions Between Users (Real Estate, Autos, Market, Jobs)
The Company is not a party to, or broker of, any transaction, and is not a real estate broker, auto dealer, employer, or employment agency. Sales, rentals, and employment agreements are made directly between users, and payments are exchanged directly between them. The Company does not guarantee the condition, ownership, or price of any item, property, or vehicle, the terms of any job, or the identity or ability to pay of any user. Verify before you transact, meet in public places, and do not pay in advance before verifying.
2. Real Estate
- Listings are published after review and expire 90 days after posting. The poster must mark a listing as closed when the transaction is complete.
- Agents advertising services that require a license must comply with applicable license number and responsible broker disclosure requirements, including California Department of Real Estate (DRE) regulations.
- Mortgage calculator results are illustrative only and do not represent a loan approval, interest rate, or actual payment.
3. Autos
Only approved dealers may list vehicles. Dealers are responsible for disclosures of price, financing, fees, and vehicle history, and must comply with applicable law, including the California Vehicle Code.
4. Market
Listings are automatically unpublished 60 days after posting (renewal available). Please update the status when an item is sold. Prohibited items are governed by the Community Guidelines.
5. Business Directory
- Editorially Listed Businesses were added by the Company from public sources, and their information may be outdated or the business may have closed. Confirm directly with the business before visiting.
- Business owners may update their listing through a Claim request or ask the Company to correct or remove it.
- Businesses may not delete reviews themselves; they may only reply to or report them.
6. Jobs
Job posts must be for positions actually being filled and must comply with federal and state employment laws (including minimum wage and anti-discrimination laws). Job posts that charge job seekers a fee are prohibited. Plus and Premium tiers change only list order and badges and do not guarantee applicants or hires.
7. Travel Stories and Trip Planner
- Travel stories are published immediately. Any sponsorship, free product or service, or material connection must be disclosed on the posting form (see the U.S. FTC Endorsement Guides). Detailed standards are in the Travel Posting Policy.
- Trip plans are private by default. If you choose link sharing or public visibility, anyone with the link or all Members can view the plan, and other Members may copy it. Co-editors may edit plan contents; only the owner may change visibility.
- Places, hours, prices, and route information may change; check official sources before you travel.
8. News
- For outside news articles, the Site shows the headline, summary, and lead photo that the publisher makes available through its RSS feed, together with a link to the original, and credits the photo source. The Site does not reproduce full articles. Copyright in the articles and photos belongs to the publisher and the photo provider.
- RSS articles are collected automatically and may be published without editorial review. The originating publisher is responsible for their accuracy, and the Company does not guarantee it.
- If a copyright owner or publisher asks the Company to remove a summary or photo, the Company will remove it promptly after confirming the request. Send correction and removal requests to the Copyright and Takedown Requests page.
9. Schools and School Districts
- Basic information about schools, school districts, and colleges comes from public sources such as the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) of the U.S. Department of Education. The Company is not an official channel of any school, district, or college. Always confirm admission, enrollment, transfer, school assignment, and tuition with the official information of the school, district, or college. The Company does not determine school assignment from an address or ZIP Code.
- Korean-language support information is shown with its source, date checked, and review status (confirmed from official notice, confirmed directly, member report, needs update, or discontinued). Member reports are shown only as “member report, unverified” until an operator confirms them from an official source. “No information” does not mean the support is unavailable.
- Only parents and guardians 18 or older may link a school to their account, save schools, or join school communities. Linking a school is not an application for admission or proof of enrollment, and it is visible only to you by default. Linked school information is deleted when you close your account.
- School communities are not official or verified enrollment spaces. Do not post information that could identify a child, such as a child’s full name, date of birth, student ID, class or teacher, or face photos. The Company may remove such posts without notice.
- School, district, and college staff may request corrections through the correction request on each school page.
Section 9. Paid Services
- The type, price, term, and benefits of each Paid Service are shown before purchase. Current products are listed below (prices may change; the amount on the checkout screen controls).

| Job tier | Plus / Premium | $10 / $30 per month | Monthly auto-renewal |
- Automatic renewal: Memberships and job tiers renew automatically each month on the same date and are charged to your payment method on file until you cancel. You may cancel online at any time in My Account > Membership > “Manage Subscription.” After cancellation, benefits continue until the end of the paid period and no further charges are made.
- Ad review: Individual ads and membership voucher ads do not run upon payment alone; the term begins on the date the Company reviews and approves the ad. Ad slots are limited by region and type, so an ad may be scheduled for the earliest available date.
- Refunds: Individual ads canceled before they start running, and ads rejected in review, are refunded in full. Ads that have started running, membership and tier periods already paid, and ads stopped for policy violations are generally non-refundable. Periods in which an ad could not run for reasons attributable to the Company will be compensated with an extension or a voucher. Where applicable law requires broader refunds, the law controls.
- Payment processing: Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc.; card numbers are not stored on the Company’s servers. Prices are in U.S. dollars and applicable taxes may be added. If a payment fails, membership benefits (voucher issuance, discounts, listing limits) are paused.
- The Company reports ad impressions and clicks but does not guarantee inquiries, contracts, sales, hires, or other results.
- Further details are governed by the Advertising and Membership Terms.
Section 10. Reports, Content Actions, and Restrictions
- Users may report violations of these Terms or the Community Guidelines using the “Report” button on posts, comments, travel stories, and trip plans, or by contacting the Company. Members may hide another member’s posts using “Block author.”
- The Company may, without prior notice, hide (unpublish), request edits to, or remove Content suspected of violating these Terms. Any ad attached to that Content may also be stopped.
- Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, the Company may issue warnings, impose temporary posting restrictions, revoke Business Member privileges, or suspend or terminate accounts. Fraud, illegal activity, or conduct threatening the safety of others may result in immediate termination and a report to the appropriate authorities.
- Members whose Content is hidden or whose posting is restricted may appeal. The Company will review the appeal and notify the Member whether the Content is restored.
- These actions are taken to operate the Site; the Company is not obligated to monitor all Content or to detect every violation.
Section 11. Third-Party Services and Links
- The Site uses the following third-party services, whose terms and privacy policies may also apply: Stripe (payments), Google Maps (maps, place autocomplete, directions), Google Website Translate (English view), YouTube (video), and outside news RSS feeds.
- The Company is not responsible for the content of third-party sites linked in Content or ads, or for transactions made on those sites.
- If a third-party service changes or is discontinued, related features (such as English machine translation) may be limited.
Section 12. Intellectual Property
- The Site’s design, logo, the “Ktown Life” name, software, editorial articles, and the Business Directory compilation belong to the Company or its rightful owners.
- Except for personal, non-commercial viewing, you may not copy, distribute, sell, or compile Site content into a database without the Company’s prior written consent.
- Rights holders who believe their work has been posted without permission may file a notice under the procedure on the Copyright and Takedown Requests page (including U.S. DMCA notices). The Company may terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
- The Company may use suggestions and feedback you send to improve the Services without compensation to you.
Section 13. Privacy
The Company processes member information, location data (used only to show nearby regions when you allow browser location), cookies, and payment records as described in the Privacy Policy. California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), which are described in the Privacy Policy.
Section 14. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” The Company disclaims all express and implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The Company does not warrant the accuracy or currency of Content, business information, property, vehicle, or job information, news summaries, machine translations, or map and distance calculations, or that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Section 15. Limitation of Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company and its officers and employees are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including lost profits, lost data, or lost transactions) arising from use of or inability to use the Services.
- The Company is not liable for transactions, meetings, or disputes between users, or for damages caused by the conduct of other users or third parties.
- In no event will the Company’s total liability relating to the Services exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid the Company in the 12 months before the claim arose and (b) US $100.
- Some states do not allow these limitations; in those states they apply only to the extent permitted by law.
Section 16. Indemnification
You will indemnify and hold harmless the Company and its officers and employees from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from (a) your Content, (b) your violation of these Terms or the law, (c) your infringement of a third party’s rights, or (d) your transactions with other users.
Section 17. Account Closure and Termination
- You may close your account at any time. Cancel any active membership or job tier before closing your account to avoid further charges.
- When you close your account, your private trip plans are deleted and your Content is handled according to the Privacy Policy and Section 6.3. Delete any Content you do not want to remain before closing your account.
- The Company may terminate your account for material or repeated violations of these Terms. If an account is terminated for a violation, any remaining Paid Service period is non-refundable.
- Sections 6.2–6.4, 12, 14–16, and 18 survive termination.
Section 18. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
- If a dispute arises, please first notify the Company using the contact information above. The Company will negotiate in good faith within 30 days.
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
- Disputes not resolved by negotiation are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, except that claims qualifying for small claims court may be filed there.
- [Optional — decide with counsel] Individual arbitration and class action waiver provisions.
Section 19. Changes to These Terms
The Company may amend these Terms due to changes in law or the Services. Amended Terms will be posted on the Site at least 7 days before they take effect (30 days for material changes unfavorable to Members), and material changes will also be sent to Members by email. Continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms. If you do not agree, you may close your account.
Section 20. Miscellaneous
- If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- The Company’s failure to promptly enforce a right under these Terms is not a waiver of that right.
- You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without the Company’s consent. The Company may assign these Terms in connection with a transfer of business or merger.
- These Terms and the policies listed in Section 1.3 are the entire agreement between you and the Company regarding the Services.
